Assert David's law

Parents of kids who have been bullied… you need to assert David’s Law. Before you do this you need to get be sure the school deems the act as “bullying”… (you can download the TEA’s definition if you need backup) and then you say you want to enact David’s law.  This does several things. 1) you can request that your student be moved to another campus or you can request the bully be moved to another campus.  2) your child cannot be punished for defending themselves 3) if the school district still takes no action, you can sue and force the district to pay for private school.   I had an issue earlier this year- brought up David’s law, and everything was resolved after that. I will say, it wasn’t the admins at the campus (they knew what was going on) but the process to removed a student is hard… there is a lot of red tape. If the bully student has any mental/social/learning issues, it’s even harder. She literally told me that her hands are tied but would support us if we needed to enact David’s law.   https://txssc.txstate.edu/videos/bullying-and-the-law/
